Welcome to our website…

Bali has long been a favourite destination for Australian travellers.

The exotic climate, breathtaking scenery and warm, generous people have drawn visitors back time and time again. The anticipation that builds while awaiting your departure date is tangible – days are counted down, the mind wanders to thoughts of beaches and bintang, and you can almost smell that spicy mix of incense, gudangs and street food…

Let’s face it – Bali is a magic place.

That was what enticed Alan and Kerry Guppy to this small Indonesian haven some thirty years ago, on their very first trip. The love affair that followed, with both the island and its people, eventually led them to open Bigwater Imports. They hoped, then, to bring a little of that Balinese flavour into South West homes. They also thought that their purchases might give a little bit of help to a few local businesses who had been devastated by the effect of the 2002 bombings, and the gaping hole it left not only in the street scape on Jalan Legian, but also in the tourism-reliant economy.

Today, business is booming. Alan and Kerry have helped launch many Balinese tradespeople into successful careers, with that success flowing down into their communities and shared. They have been bringing incredible looking statues and water features - crafted in limestone, Lombok stone, brass and terracotta, concrete, even delicately hand carved stone, lava rock, and wood – into Australia and your homes for almost six years. And Bigwater Imports is a family affair – the owners now see their son Clint stepping up to take the reins and bring his own passion, for both Bali and for his parents legacy, into the mix.

Its an exciting time here at Bigwater Imports. A new website. A new shipment about to arrive. New projects in the pipeline to give back to the Balinese people. And for you? Perhaps a new addition to your entry way or courtyard, a bubbling water feature with a sound that soothes… Perhaps some festive flags, or a shady umbrella for a hot summer afternoon… Maybe just a small gift, a smooth stone statue that will bring back holiday memories…

Perhaps a little of that Bali magic…
